Fourth born and only son to Keeper chieftain Elu Tayuun, Elu'sae was born in the outskirts of the Black Shroud. He was a shy child, always being found on his mother's hip at a very early age. Though it is very uncommon for male Keepers to stay within the village, Elu'sae never felt unwelcomed at home. He would also be found singing songs alongside his mother and performing plays he and his sisters would write in the heart of the village. He grew up very closely alongside his three older sisters. They were extremely protective of their baby brother, taking him under their wing. His eldest sister Kita would serve as his combat instructor, guiding him in the ways of archery and act as his sparring partner. Rhya would instruct him in swordplay and medicine compounding. Though he wouldn't be able to make anything quite close to his sister, Elu'sae could make basic healing salves. He and his youngest sister Ajna would often be found at the forefront of hunting expeditions. She was also found to be quite the prankster, though majority of her schemes would be quite harmless. Unfortunately, this didn't stop her baby brother from being found guilty alongside her.Elu found the young boy to have an exceptionally high aetherpool and had begun to guide him on how to properly output his aether through magicks. He was quick to pick up on combat spells, but struggled with mending incantations. Elu'sae was also extremely reckless when using his aether, often inflicting injuries on himself. Despite his recklessness, she found Elu'sae to have an incredible amount of potential as a warrior, increasing his training regimen as a result.
"Garleans are invading from the North Shroud!! We need to get out of here, children!!"News of the Garleans attacking Eorzea spread throughout the citystates. Additionally, it was communicated amongst neighboring Keeper of the Moon tribes that the Empire sought out to capture Miqo'te to use in Magitek experiments. Young Elu'sae would often times find himself woken up in the early hours of the night to flee, his village constantly relocating to other secluded parts of the Shroud. The soldiers had set their sights on the small Keeper village. Elu'sae's home, once booming with laughter, was now bellowing with screams and terror as the soldiers ravaged their village. Though the chieftain had initiated an evacuation plan, the village had already found themselves suffering casualties. Elu entrusted her two older daughters to take their siblings to safety as she stayed back to fend off the enemy. Months passed since the Empire had ravaged their home. Though the remaining survivors had eventually returned to the village, the smell of ceruleum and death had still clung in the air. Thinking that they finally found peace, they once again look to seek refuge elsewhere.Elu'sae devoted the next several years of his life to training, eventually leaving home in order to seek out answers on the Empire. He plants to set foot for Gridania, where he starts off as a mercenary to make coin and gather intel. Not wanting to bring any kind of attention back to his family, he decides to take up a new alias. Once an innocent youth, he has fallen victim to the destruction of war. A hollow shell of what he once was, the young man decided he would take up the name Cassius.
A coin purse slammed onto the table in front of him. The white haired Hyur stared down at Cassius as he took another swig from his tankard. "You're the mercenary for hire, right? We're looking for someone with your kind of skillset." Clank. "And who the hell are you?", Cassius scowled. "Fat coin purse you've got here, but I don't hand out my services to just anybody. Give me one good reason why I need to help you."
"I heard you're also looking for intel on the Empire. What if I told you that I could assist with that?", the stranger pulls up a chair alongside the Miqo'te. "Ah, but where are my manners? The name's Thancred."
Q'kie NunhA meek yet sprightly botanist. After his twin brother had passed away, Q'kie was set to assume the role of Nunh for his tribe. Being hesitant to take this role, he had departed from home after a disagreement with his mother. Eventually they make amends, and he now sends various regional medicines back home from his ventures.ARRQ'kie had first encountered Cassius in the South Shroud after a band of Treants had spotted him while on the hunt for a specific local flora. After Cassius intervenes, the two make their way back to Gridania to treat Q'kie's wounds. While recuperating, Q'kie asks Cassius if he could join him on his journey. Alongside Cassius and the Scions, Q'kie assists them in gathering intel and mending any wounded in their travels. The two Miqo'te grow especially close, and they soon find themselves bridled with unspoken feelings for one another.HW
